The 2021 Ford Escape is a fun family SUV that has plenty of style and power. With several trim levels to choose from, along with the option of gas, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid technology, you can choose the powertrain that best suits your lifestyle.
Trim Levels
The 2021 Ford Escape is available in 10 trim levels: S, SE, SE Hybrid, SE Plug-In Hybrid, SEL, SEL Hybrid, SEL Plug-In Hybrid, Titanium, Titanium Hybrid, and Titanium Plug-In Hybrid. The base S trim rides on 17-inch wheels, while the top-of-the-line Titanium trims roll on 19-inch wheels. The dual chrome exhaust tips and body-color rear spoiler give the Escape a sporty look. The lower trims have an upper grille with black surround, while the Titanium trim levels sport an upper grille with black mesh chrome surround. A chrome five-bar upper grille with chrome surround is also available. The Titanium trims also feature black roof rack side rails.
Engine
The base engine in the Ford Escape is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The Titanium is powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with auto start-stop technology. This engine is also available in the SEL trim level. The engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid trim levels have a hybrid 2.5-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine and the Plug-In Hybrid models feature a plug-in hybrid 2.5-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine under the hood.
Performance
The Escape comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive and all-wheel drive disconnect is also available. Electronic traction control and curve control keep your ride smooth.
Interior
Inside the 2021 Escape you'll find seating for up to five passengers. Depending on the trim, the Escape has either a 4.2- or 12.3-inch instrument cluster. All trims include USB ports so you can keep your devices charged and ready. While cloth seating surfaces are standard in lower trim levels, the Titanium comes with luxurious ActiveX seating material and heated front row seats. Leather-trimmed front bucket seats are also available.
FordPass Connect is a standard app for all trim levels and includes features such as remote start/stop and lock/unlock, as well as vehicle status check and the ability to locate your vehicle.
The base trim includes six speakers, while the higher trims feature a B&O sound system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer. Manual climate control is standard in the S and dual zone electronic automatic temperature control is found in the Titanium trims. Opt for the available panoramic vista roof in the Titanium trim levels so passengers can enjoy excellent views of the night sky.
Safety Features
The 2021 Ford Ranger includes both active and passive safety equipment to help ensure a safe drive for you and your passengers. Standard safety equipment includes lane-keep system, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, SOS post-crash alert system, rear view camera, AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, post-collision braking, and auto high-beam headlamps. Some trim levels also include a reverse sensing system, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and active park assist 2.0.
